Toronto, January 28, 2019 –Environics Analytics, one of North America’s leading marketing and analytical services companies, has named Vividata as its Partner of the Year for 2018.

While Environics Analytics works closely with almost 100 partners across Canada and the U.S., this award recognizes one partner that truly stands out for its pursuit of interesting, innovative work that has been mutually beneficial for both organizations over the past year. The collaborative work between Environics Analytics and Vividata to develop CannabisInsights is the most recent example of this joint effort. As the name suggests, CannabisInsights is a database that will help organizations better understand the recreational and medicinal cannabis consumption habits of Canadians.

“This year's Partner of the Year is a great example of a true partnership,” says Jan Kestle, President and CEO of Environics Analytics. “We have an open and honest relationship and we constantly push each other to develop new innovative products that will help our clients make more informed decisions.”

With the legalization of cannabis, producers, governments, retailers and investors needed answers to find the best opportunities in this new estimated $8 billion market. Recognizing this opportunity, Vividata developed the Canadian Cannabis Study to provide unparalleled insights around consumers’ views on cannabis, combined with in-depth knowledge of their habits across 200 product categories and media use. This study became the backbone for CannabisInsights, which makes the Vividata survey actionable by modelling the findings down to small levels of geography.

“We have a great relationship with Environics Analytics and are perfectly complementary research partners,” says Pat Pellegrini, Ph.D., Vividata’s President and CEO. “We were able to work together to bring our Cannabis Study down to the neighbourhood level for localized, actionable insight. For anything we do in the future, we will make sure it plays well at a micro geo- and micro-marketing level so we can continue to complement each other.”

CannabisInsights is just one example of the work Vividata and Environics Analytics are doing together. Many clients are already well aware of the insights provided by Opticks Powered by Vividata, Canada’s leading provider of cross-media audiences, consumer behaviour, product usage and lifestyle data.
