Environics Analytics specializes in delivering accurate, current geographic data files that work with popular GIS software products—allowing users to create compelling maps of their data. We provide a suite of map data products for use in a variety of marketing applications: consumer profiling, site selection, media planning, merchandising, target marketing, geocoding and facilities management. The street and boundary data come from industry leading data partners. And many of the map displays include points of interest—retail locations, schools, waterways, parks and bus terminals—that can be added on thematic layers.

The Enhanced Postal Code Conversion File (ePCCF) provides a link between the six-digit postal code and standard Census geographic areas as well as a latitude/longitude point for each postal code. By correlating postal codes to a Census dissemination area (DA), Enhanced PCCF allows marketers to easily append consumers’ location for mapping and analysis. The Unique Enhanced PCCF file contains 873,091 postal code points, 2,288 more records than 2015’s release.

In addition, Environics Analytics has also made significant enhancements to the latest Rural Enhanced PCCF through the manual checking of locations, correcting known errors and improving geocoding for rural postal codes. While the basic PCCF may report a single postal code representing a half-dozen rural communities, EA’s Enhanced PCCF uses a combination of place name and postal code data to assign to each record the characteristics (and location) of the DA. The Rural Enhanced PCCF file contains 189,323 rural postal code/community name combinations, an increase of 42,562 records from 2015.

The Enhanced PCCF can be used to geocode a company’s customer list and to append demographic and PRIZM5 lifestyle segments to records for mapping and other analytical applications like data mining to uncover behavioural patterns for targeting campaigns

The unique assignment file provides users with an exclusive link between all postal codes and all levels of geographic detail from the Census. The Rural Enhanced PCCF refines rural postal code assignments by including the ability to match using a combination of postal code and community names commonly associated with that postal code. This combination provides a greater degree of precision in locating rural records and results in more accurate assignment of data to customer records for rural areas.

Streets & Boundaries consists of nationwide digital mapping layers from TomTom with consistent, current and complete coverage based on a master internal database that is constantly updated with new information for use with GIS systems. The layers align with TomTom’s Canadian street network files, which also can be provided as a display-only version for routing and geocoding applications. The TomTom files allow users to create highly accurate, publication-quality maps displaying the latest census data. With these boundary files, your data come alive in graphic, richly featured maps. And when these best-of-breed GIS files are embedded in software tools for micromarketing, they ensure the most accurate results for a variety of geo-analytical projects.

Through our partnership with DMTI Spatial, we provide CanMap® Postal Code Suite, which consists of the following files:

Multiple Enhanced Postal Codes is a precision-based point file representing more than one million postal codes across Canada.

The Postal Code (FSALDU) Boundaries file is a polygon file representing the geographic location of the six-digit postal code. The file is generated from point addresses with six-digit postal codes’ attribute assignments.

The Forward Sortation Area (FSA) Boundaries file represents the geographic area of the first three characters of a postal code.

Sales departments can use Postal Code Boundaries to create fair and balanced sales territories for their teams by analyzing the value and location of current and prospective customers. In addition, sales staffs can confirm whether their territories offer an equitable number of prospects compared to other territories.

Orange People

Retailers can use Postal Code Boundaries to have customer file records cleaned, assigned a unique address identifier and mapped using high precision coordinates. Demographic profiles can then be created by integrating EA data to develop a better understanding of customers and identify consumer segments receptive to their products and services.
