Environics Analytics President and CEO Jan Kestle praised CIBC for talking a bold data-driven approach

Toronto, November 21, 2017 – Environics Analytics (EA), one of North America’s leading marketing and analytical services companies, has named CIBC its Client of the Year for 2017. The honour was announced at EA’s 11th Annual User Conference, where EA President and CEO Jan Kestle praised CIBC for talking a bold data-driven approach to forge stronger relationships with its clients and differentiate its services.

“CIBC saw an opportunity to better understand its clients by leveraging data analytics,” says Kestle. “CIBC made a strong commitment to get every department involved, and its efforts are paying off.”

For the past year, CIBC and EA have been working side-by-side to help the bank better understand its customers and their needs. The bank set an aggressive timeline to produce results that would help inform decisions at every level of the organization. To meet this goal, EA provided CIBC guidance on a becoming a data-driven organization and helped it develop a shared view of the customer across all departments. Through this process, CIBC was able to accelerate its efforts to identify effective ways to engage clients that hadn’t been considered before.

EA’s Kestle said the award recognizes Rob Assimakopoulos, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at CIBC, for his leadership in bringing advanced analytics to the organization. “We’re honoured to be selected by Environics Analytics as its Client of the Year,” says Assimakopoulos. “The work we’ve done together is a big step toward knowing our clients better, and we are now able to better sense and respond to their needs, deliver more personal interactions and, ultimately, help them successfully achieve their goals.”

The Client of the Year award was presented at EA’s annual user conference, which this year attracted nearly 700 participants representing a variety of industries including not-for profit and public sectors. With a theme of “Analytics In Action: Informing Decisions, Achieving Results,” the day-long event featured 16 client case study presentations, a keynote address by public opinion researcher Michael Adams on “Canada in the Age of Trump and Brexit,” and demonstrations of data-based business intelligence tools, such as EA’s popular PRIZM5 segmentation system and the newly enhanced ENVISION5 analytics platform.
