Environics Analytics (EA), the premier marketing services and data analytics company in Canada, has awarded $10,000 in scholarships to nine exemplary students in the Geographic Analysis and Masters of Spatial Analysis programs at Ryerson University. As part of a decade-long partnership with Ryerson, a leader in career-oriented education, EA established the scholarship program to recognize students who have demonstrated outstanding achievement and contributions to the community.

The nine scholarship recipients are Nicholas Pulsone, Jennifer Nhieu, Adrienne Lee, Melissa Snable, Krichelle Pereira, Hyacinth Bouchard, Elmer Lara Palacios, Ricardo Sanchez and Savio Chazhoor. They were officially recognized at a November 5th ceremony hosted by Ryerson’s Department of Geography and Environmental Studies in the Faculty of Arts. Attended by hundreds of students, families, faculty, donors and alumni, the awards ceremony celebrates student achievement while providing an opportunity for students to connect with leading businesses and community organizations.

“The continued generosity of our longstanding partner, Environics Analytics, enables the recognition of nine high-achieving students from the Geographic Analysis and the Masters of Spatial Analysis programs,” said Dr. Shuguang Wang, Chair, Department of Geography & Environmental Studies. “We’ve enjoyed a decade-long partnership with Environics Analytics and a rewarding twenty-year relationship with EA President Jan Kestle, who is a valued colleague and member of our department advisory council. At Ryerson we are excited to help solve today’s social and economic development challenges by collaborating with our business partners to analyze human behaviour and decision-making using the best data available.”

The EA-funded scholarships are intended to help Ryerson inspire innovation and excellence among its student body. In addition, EA has a long history of developing young talent from Ryerson University as well as other colleges and universities. The company offers select students paid internships that enable them to further hone their skills, and many interns go on to become permanent EA employees.

“Environics Analytics is committed to recognizing achievement and supporting education in geographic and spatial analysis—areas of study that are so important for the future,” said EA president Kestle. “Our scholarship awards were created to honour promising students who have already demonstrated academic excellence on a career path in geography, spatial analysis and geographic information systems. We are pleased to recognize these outstanding students and look forward to their contributions to our industry.”
