Fans of clear spirits, vodka and gin, tend to back the Democratic party. Those favouring amber liquor are more in step with Republicans. Do Canadian tastes follow suit?

 

 

 

A 2011 analysis of federal election results in Ontario reveals that Conservative voters have a higher propensity to drink rye and rum, while Liberals get more kicks from wine, gin, scotch, cognac and beer.
